Onesto Consultancy

The right introduction,
made properly.
India & Europe Desk

Most introductions fail
before they begin.

The India-Europe trade corridor is full of opportunity and equally full of mismatched introductions, unverified contacts, and relationships that never progress beyond a first email. Trade directories give you names. LinkedIn gives you profiles. Neither gives you trust.

We have spent over seven years building networks on both sides. Every introduction we make comes from a relationship we have personally cultivated. We know the distributor's capacity, the buyer's real purchasing volume, and whether the investor is genuinely active. That knowledge is not available in any database.

Our standard: if we would not personally put our reputation on the line for the introduction, we do not make it. This is why our network trusts our recommendations and why our introductions convert into real commercial relationships.
Four Introduction Types

Every introduction
done correctly.

Four categories of introduction. Each requiring a different network, a different due diligence process, and a different kind of relationship. We do not treat a distributor search and a JV search as the same engagement.

01

Distributors & Agents

Partners who can move your product to market in India or Europe. We identify distributors with proven networks in your specific sector and geography, verify their financial capacity and current portfolio, and confirm they are genuinely looking for new lines before we make any introduction.

02

Joint Venture Partners

Strategic alliances and shared investments between Indian and European businesses. JV partner search requires deeper due diligence, cultural alignment, and a clear commercial framework before the first meeting. We structure the introduction and support early term negotiations so the relationship starts correctly.

03

Buyers & Importers

Connecting Indian and European exporters with verified direct buyers and importers. We focus on buyers who have active procurement budgets, existing import infrastructure, and decision-makers we can reach directly - not purchasing departments buried behind contact forms.

04

Investors & Financiers

Introductions to growth capital, strategic investors, and cross-border financing partners for businesses expanding between India and Europe. We focus on investors who are actively deploying capital in the relevant sector, not passive funds with no operational interest in the business.

Why It Works

Four reasons personal
matchmaking converts.

Decision-makers in India and Europe respond to introductions from trusted contacts. Cold email conversion in these markets is near zero. We make introductions personally, using the relationships we have built over years.

Trust.

Establishing our joint venture in India was complex, but Onesto made it remarkably smooth. From identifying the right local partner to negotiating terms, they treated our investment as if it were their own.

Common Questions

Matchmaking. Answered.

Direct answers on how our matchmaking process works, what it costs, and what you can expect.

How long does it take to find a verified distributor in India?
For most sectors, we identify and vet a shortlist of two to four candidates within four to eight weeks of receiving a clear brief. The timeline depends on the specificity of the sector, the geographic scope, and the volume requirements. Niche industrial products take longer than FMCG. Regional distribution in one state is faster than national network identification. We set realistic timelines at the start of each engagement rather than overpromising.
Do you work on a commission or a fixed fee basis?
We work on a retainer plus success fee structure for most matchmaking engagements. The retainer covers the brief process, network search, due diligence, and shortlist preparation. The success component is tied to a verified introduction being accepted and progressing to a commercial discussion. We do not work on pure commission models because they create an incentive to make volume introductions rather than quality ones.
Can you find buyers for Indian products in Spain and Europe?
Yes. We work in both directions. Our Spain and Europe network covers importers, distributors, and buyers across food and beverage, agricultural inputs, industrial components, textiles, and speciality goods. For Indian exporters targeting Spain specifically, we have direct buyer relationships with Spanish importers, supermarket category managers, and food service distributors.
What sectors do you have the strongest network in?
Our strongest direct networks are in agricultural inputs and commodities, FMCG and food products, industrial machinery and components, real estate and investment, and professional services. Through our extended network we also operate in pharmaceuticals, technology, and speciality chemicals. We tell you clearly if a sector is outside our direct network before taking on an engagement.
We tried to find an Indian distributor before and it did not work. What do you do differently?
The most common reasons India distributor searches fail are: the candidate agreed to a distribution deal without the real capacity or commitment to execute it; cultural signals of genuine versus polite interest were misread during negotiation; due diligence was insufficient; or there was no one managing the relationship after the first meeting. We address all four through personal vetting, cultural translation, our due diligence process, and 90-day post-introduction follow-through.
Can you help us find a joint venture partner in India as a European company?
Yes, and JV partner identification is one of the most demanding things we do because the stakes are higher and the due diligence requirements are correspondingly more thorough. For a JV engagement we need a clear brief on the industry, the commercial structure you are proposing, your contribution to the venture, and what you need the Indian partner to bring. The search, vetting, and introduction process typically takes eight to twelve weeks.
