Onesto Consultancy

Your European operations,
managed.
Europe Desk

Setting up in Europe
is the start. Operating is the work.

Establishing a legal entity in Spain is administratively manageable. What comes next is harder: monthly tax filings, annual accounts, social security obligations, employment law compliance, distributor relationship management, market monitoring, and the constant administrative overhead of running a small European subsidiary from a headquarters on another continent.

For companies at the early stage of their Spain and EU operations, hiring a full local team is disproportionate to the revenue generated. Our ongoing support service gives you a professional, on-ground operational function on a monthly retainer, without the fixed cost of a permanent local structure.

We act as your on-ground European headquarters. Accounting, compliance, payroll, commercial representation, and market intelligence, all coordinated through one point of contact who speaks your language and understands both sides of the India-Europe commercial equation.
Six Service Lines

Everything your Spain
operations need.

Every aspect of your ongoing Spain and EU operations covered under one retainer. Nothing accumulates into a compliance problem. Nothing is left unmanaged while your headquarters focuses on the home market.

Accounting and Financial Reporting

Tax and Regulatory Filings

Spain's tax calendar is structured and unforgiving. VAT returns, corporate income tax, withholding obligations, and annual Registro Mercantil filings all have fixed deadlines. We manage every filing so your Spanish entity remains compliant, penalty-free, and in good standing with the Agencia Tributaria.

  • Quarterly VAT returns (Modelo 303)
  • Corporate income tax (Modelo 200)
  • Annual accounts filing with Registro Mercantil
  • Withholding tax management and certificates
03

Payroll and HR Administration

Processing payroll for your Spain-based team, managing Social Security contributions, and maintaining compliance with Spanish labour law. Employment contracts, redundancy procedures, and the practical requirements of the Estatuto de los Trabajadores are handled as part of the retainer, freeing your headquarters from navigating an unfamiliar labour framework.

  • Monthly payroll processing and payslips
  • Social Security contributions and Seguridad Social filings
  • Employment contract drafting and management
  • Labour law advisory under Spanish Estatuto de los Trabajadores
04

Commercial Representation

Your commercial presence in Spain when you cannot be physically present. We attend meetings with distributors, buyers, and commercial partners, manage existing relationships, follow up on leads, and report back monthly on commercial activity and pipeline status. For companies in the early stages of their Spain operation, this service sustains commercial momentum without requiring constant transatlantic travel.

  • Distributor and partner relationship management
  • Buyer meeting attendance and follow-up
  • Lead management and pipeline reporting
  • Trade fair representation across Spain and EU
05

Market Monitoring and Intelligence

A monthly intelligence brief covering your sector in Spain and Europe, competitor activity, relevant regulatory changes, and commercial opportunities requiring your attention. European markets move on their own calendar. This service keeps your headquarters informed and strategically current without requiring in-market staff.

  • Monthly sector and competitor monitoring
  • EU regulatory change alerts relevant to your product or sector
  • New opportunity identification and flagging
  • Quarterly strategic review call with senior Onesto partner

Two Retainer Tiers

Structured around what your
Spain operations actually need.

Monthly retainer. No minimum term beyond the initial three-month setup period. Scales with your Spain and EU operation as commercial activity grows.

Compliance
For newly established Spanish entities

Monthly VAT and withholding tax filings, annual accounts preparation and Registro Mercantil filing, monthly bookkeeping, registered address maintenance, and monthly compliance status report. Best for companies with a Spanish SL but no local staff yet, requiring clean compliance without full operational support.

Most Popular
Operations
For active Spain and EU operations

Everything in the Compliance tier, plus monthly payroll and Social Security management for local staff, commercial representation including buyer meetings and distributor follow-ups, monthly market intelligence brief, and quarterly strategic review call. Best for companies with a Spanish entity, local staff, and commercial relationships requiring active management.

Common Questions

European operations support. Answered.

What companies ask us before starting a European operations retainer.

How is this different from just hiring a local Spanish accountant?
A local Spanish accountant handles tax and bookkeeping. What they do not provide is the commercial layer: distributor relationship management, buyer meeting attendance, market intelligence, and the strategic coordination between your European subsidiary and your headquarters. Our service combines the compliance function with the commercial function under one retainer, which is what most early-stage European subsidiaries actually need.
What is the minimum commitment?
We require an initial three-month setup period to onboard your entity, establish the compliance calendar, understand your commercial relationships, and put the reporting infrastructure in place. After that, the retainer runs month-to-month with no fixed minimum term. You can scale up, scale down, or exit with one month's notice after the setup period.
Do you physically attend meetings in Spain as part of the service?
Yes, for the Operations tier. Physical attendance at buyer meetings, distributor reviews, and commercial partner meetings in Spain is included within the retainer up to an agreed monthly allocation. Our base in Bilbao means we can cover the Basque Country, Navarra, and Catalonia without additional travel costs in most cases, and we attend meetings in Madrid and other Spanish cities as required.
Can you help close our Spanish entity if we decide to exit the market?
Yes. Closing a Spanish entity is a structured process involving tax clearances, Registro Mercantil liquidation filings, Social Security deregistration, and employee settlement where applicable. We manage the full closure process. The process typically takes three to six months from the decision to exit, and starting it properly is significantly cheaper than leaving a dormant entity with accumulating obligations.
We have an existing Spanish entity that has accumulated compliance issues. Can you take it over?
Yes, and we have done this before. The first step is a compliance audit covering outstanding VAT returns, unpaid Social Security contributions, Registro Mercantil status, and any other accumulated obligations. We then present a remediation plan with realistic timelines and costs. Regularising a neglected entity is always more expensive than maintaining it from the start, but it is entirely manageable with the right process.
